Queer Handbuilding [Mid-City]
Queer Handbuilding [Mid-City]
Queer Handbuilding is happening every other month in Mid-City with Manu!
This is a one-time, 3-hour introductory handbuilding class intended for the Queer Community. No experience required.
Every month we will have a new project centered in queer symbolism, history, expression and creativity! Express yourself through images, painting, carving and socializing with others in community.
Manu Garcia (Manu Del Mar Ceramics) is a LA-based community teaching artist who teaches ceramics to children and adults. Manu believes in the active learning approach to teaching, in which lessons are hands-on and where students discover their own creativity through trial and error, problem-solving, and self-discovery.
Manu's work focuses on clay narrative storytelling about their current surroundings and past experiences. Follow them on Instagram!
All materials, firing and glazing included. This class includes keeping a piece! BYOB & 420 friendly!
These workshops are intended to be a safe space for ALL queer identifying folks. We do not condone gatekeeping or policing of identities.
