Echo Park is Closed
Sad news, community: After 8 incredible years, POT Echo Park is closed...
With heavy hearts we must announce the closure of our Echo Park studio—our first home—due to incidents of gun violence, compounded by concerns related to policing in our communities. Luckily no one on our team was harmed, but we put our safety first and made this necessary and unanimous decision before our luck ran out. Please respect our need for privacy on this subject, we’re not sharing more publicly for our safety. This isn’t a complaint about our neighborhood as we love it and many in our community are rooted here. This is about a small business being pulled into an unsafe situation we didn’t create and can’t control.
We’ve served our community there for 8 years and made history as the first BIPOC-run & focused pottery studio in the U.S. Now we need help to rehome our space, and with the right resources we know we can create a ceramic education paradise that gives back, creates jobs, and keeps our mission alive.
We’re asking for the city, larger organizations, and community members with resources to help us find a new forever home and rebuild. If you have commercial space leads, grants, or other relevant resources, please reach out to info@potstudiola.com
