Sabzi & Sofal
POT & Big Dill Kitchen present Sabzi & Sofal: Our love note to noon-panir-o-sabzi
Paint your own sabzi plate with POT, while grazing a noon-panir sabzi spread by Big Dill Kitchen. Big Dill Kitchen will also teach you the history of the plate and how to make one.
Noon-panir-o-sabzi is a traditional Iranian platter of bread, fruit cheese and herbs. It has been eaten across Iran for centuries as breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack. It is the cornerstone of Persian cuisine in the home, and the definition of comfort food. It is meant to be eaten slowly as you make each bite (or loghmeh) of perfection.
You will be using high-quality ceramic glazes to personalize your own premade pottery plate. No making pottery, just painting. You'll be guided through prompts to decorate with Persian motifs - or whatever you like.
This workshop is for all diaspora members and those interested in learning about Iranian culture. It will be led in English with Farsi translation available, you do not need to speak Farsi to join.
