Ollas & Vases [Level 2 Wheel Workshop]

Learn to throw bigger vase forms as you make your own olla in this one-time, 3-hour wheel throwing workshop for level 2 students. 

What you'll learn:  How to throw bigger with 2 lbs of red clay, and shaping and altering vase forms on the wheel. 

What you'll make: You'll apply these skills to making your own olla or decorative unglazed vase.

Who this is for: Anyone with at least 4 weeks of wheel throwing experience (anywhere) looking for a one-time class on the next step. Must be comfortable centering and pulling walls with 1lb. 

Ollaa are traditional Indigenous vessels that slowly releases water through the porous unglazed clay to keep plants hydrated. This global practice has been around for centuries as a sustainable way to irrigate, and they're a beautiful example of ceramic form & function in the home.
