Join us for a 2-hour experience that honors Pchum Ben/Ancestor's Day, a time to remember our ancestors. Celebrate with Vanny, a Cambodian-Chinese-American artist whose practice is dedicated to revitalizing traditional Khmer ceramics.
In this first-timer-friendly workshop, Vanny will guide you through how to draw, transfer, carve, and relief traditional Khmer ornaments on clay.
You’ll craft 3 carved ornaments using traditional techniques. This is open to anyone who wants to carve or connect with their heritage.
Come honor the past while making something special. No experience is needed!
All materials will be provided, and participants will take home their pieces after 30 days.
For ages 12+. Ages 12-16 to be accompanied by adults.
