Haft Sin Series [4 weeks]
Haft Sin Series [4 weeks]
Make your own custom ceramic Haft Sin set in this unique 4-week handbuilding series, only available at POT!
A Haft Sin is the traditional table setting for the Iranian New Year, Nowruz. The Haft Sin table is a central part of this celebration, symbolizing renewal and the arrival of Spring. The term "Haft Sin" means "Seven S's," referring to seven items that begin with the Persian letter 'S', each with its own symbolic significance.
In this series students will make their own set of ceramics for the haft sin items. Focus on design, planning, and execution of a set based on your own style. The lesson plan will be flexible for beginners or those with experience. Students will be able to choose from all of our clay bodies and glazes.
This is a level 1 handbuilding series. Although experience is not required, we recommend taking Intro to Handbuilding first for the best possible outcome.
This series is being hosted in January so that the sets will be ready for use by March (for Nowruz)
